EDUCATION FOR
PHOTOGRAPHERS

I love to teach and share my knowledge and passion for photography. I offer 1-on-1 coaching and I also run a local photography group in the South Bay for those who prefer a group setting. Additionally, a few times a year I run bespoke photography adventures to far flung places around the globe. Past trips include Africa, Myanmar, Havasupai Falls, the Sierra Nevada Mountains and India.  I also started teaching classes at the Los Angeles Center of Photography in 2019. If you have any questions, or would like to inquire about my education for photographers, please do not hesitate to contact me.

A FEW STUDENT TESTIMONIALS

I was lucky to have a private photo tutorial with John, nobody else had signed up for the same day. What a great start! I was going to make the most out of it. I hadn’t touched my digital SLR for a few years and needed a refresher and confidence booster really bad. By the end of the session with John, I felt so inspired again and comfortable shooting in full manual setting. I captured some cool images under the Manhattan Pier following John’s instructions and couldn’t wait to put the newly learnt skills in practice! A great result in only few hours! John seems to genuinely enjoy teaching and sharing his passion. If you’re into photography, join John’s experience, you will love it.

John is an incredibly talented photographer who just so happens to be similarly gifted in his ability to teach. As I am an intermediate photographer, he was able to customize the experience to keep me challenged; I would recommend this experience to photographers of all levels and backgrounds, including total beginners. You won’t be disappointed!!

Andrew

Enjoyed the experience. We had a small group and I was able to ask questions specifically helpful to me. This lesson gave me more confidence to shoot in manual mode, although it is not the aim of the class.

Randy

The photography experience with John was enriching. John’s experience is really worthy and has been one of my favorite parts of the trip to Lisbon Angeles. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional and as a very enthusiastic person and he really guides you into his passion. I started the session knowing more about landscape photography and how to capture breathtaking pics. John is an extremely cordial and warm-hearted guy and his teachings put you in ease. Works with you patiently in giving tips and tricks of landscape photography and I will highly recommend him if you are in LA.

Dr. Amitabh

I really enjoyed my experience with John as his approach was well thought-through and he made it challenging but fun. His passion for the subject was palpable – I really feel I learned a lot. Now to put all those new ideas into practice! Many thanks, John.

James

John was very wonderful and patient. He took the time out to teach me tips on how to recreate my photography from a different perspective. Very informative and I enjoyed myself very much. He’s an awesome instructor. I would recommend him!
